"REVIEWSSSSSS", I hiss while I ponder over the merit of making one. MOVIE: PACIFIC RIM

To start off, I love the movie. I love it. I will buy it. I will make sweet movie watching love to it.

Doesn't mean that I didn't have my own problems with it. But instead of breaking this down into the normal reviewing format that everyone just loves, I'm just going to list mis problemas con esta pelicula:


REASONS WHY I HAD IFFY FEELINGS ABOUT THE AWESOME ROBOT MOVIE:


1. It was predictable.


I love predictable. But more on the basis of knowing this is going to happen, and I already know I'm going to like what's going to happen. Which is the type that went on in Pacific Rim. And I liked it enough. Until it got too predictable by the end with *you know* and a bunch of other *you knows*, so there are those. Everything's always okay until the "too", as in much, gets involved.


2. The cheese. And the corn.


I like cliched scenes enough too. However, the movies always have to earn the cheese, to have awesome feeling-y and subtle and referenc-y scenes to compensate for the cheese melted in copious amount along the top of our movie-lasagna, which also had corn lying on the bottom (Does normal lasagna have corn? Or is it just Filipino ones?) No one wants to be done eating and have corn stuck in between teeth. Then we have to pick at it and be annoying.


3. "The movie should've been longer."


I agree. If just so the background and character profiles could've been built up better. I felt like the two main character profiles overcompensated for all the other Jaeger pilots. I wanted to know about them too! They were pretty cool! Now I feel cheated and have to look for fanfiction to fill in that gap :(


4. The motherfucking "PING!" moments in the movie.


Just no.


5. The acting


I'm never confident when it comes to criticizing someone's method of acting, or even if they can't act because I feel as though my reasons for not liking the acting is underplayed since I can't included specific examples without spoiling the whole movie– which I have been tempted to do from the very beginning, btw. Just saying. But, I mean, it's pretty obvious what goes on from the trailers itself. Still gotta watch it though. 


6. The movie didn't make sense at some point/s.


Somewhere along the line, some movies just can't keep up with the traction and fall flat on their Hollywood producers, crushing them in their bad movie-making/funding decisions. This movie had so many "If's" and theories that you couldn't tell which from what and everything becomes CONFUSO and I'm there with my mouth gaping open the screen, so completely mind-fucked because, "Fuck yeah! Awesome! But why did that happen in the first place?"


So... In many ways this movie could've been better, and so much more yummy than it was. But I still like it, LURV it even, and you should too. Take your hate somewhere else and wank over it.
