i don't even know why i read hockey rpf fanfiction. it started as a random thing when i googled patrick kane while watching the 2010 olympics  us v. canada game on youtube. the rest is history.

Notes: i went ahead and read this fic without the tags so i was surprised with some of the shit that went on. but i really enjoyed it. along with the fact that it's not a typical toews tops kane fic. alpha/beta/omega fic.

Title: Bad Case of Loving You by ukiyo91, yukonecho

Summary: Or, the one where Tazer is the Team Doctor and Kaner digs it. Also, split-pea soup.

Notes: toews is a hot doctor. what more can you ask for really.

Title: bare those teeth to me please, man-eater by addandsubtract

Summary: the one where johnny is a selkie, and patrick is the fisherman's son who loves him.

Notes: ngl, i had butterflies in my stomach reading this. the tone is so perfectly melancholy and just, ugh.

Title: Black Lettering by aohatsu

Summary: Patrick had a letter written on his wrist when he was born, small and even in black pen-print. Well, technically it started to show up a day after he was born, like a bruise that takes time to settle in. Patrick doesn’t remember, obviously, but his parents will tell him whenever he asks, how small it was and how it just... faded in, a little ‘J’.

Notes: the pining and how everything comes together at the end is fucking cheesy as fuck but it so perfectly right that you need to read it.

Title: But You're So Magnetic by forochel

Summary: Kaner comes into his veela heritage on his 24th birthday. Shenanigans and surprise feelings ensue.

Notes: it's fucking hilarious. read it. besides, this fic basically comments on how fucking beautiful patrick kane is and everyone should realize that. like seriously.

Title: The Courtship of Patrick Kane by hazel

Summary: “Well,” Kaner says finally. “If you want to keep cockblocking me with the ladies, you’re gonna have to make it worth my while.” He’s smirking like it’s a challenge, like he knows Jon can’t ever let a challenge drop, and that’s it. That’s how Jon realises that he’s totally, completely, embarrassingly head-over-heels in love with Patrick fucking Kane.

Notes: possessive!toews which the best sort of toews. fave. plus it's not the typical kaner pines for toews fic that we usually get in the fandom.

Title: Dude, Where's the Stanley Cup?! by svmadelyn

Summary: Johnny lands in Saskatoon at noon, and is shocked to see Kaner hovering furtively at Johnny's gate exit. He's wearing a baggy gray hoodie and obnoxiously huge sunglasses and he doesn't look like he's showered in at least three days. Johnny is somehow still relieved to see him.

Notes: just ugggghhhhh, perfect team dynamic fic and toews/kane getting together. plus i'm a sucker for fics with jonny's view of things.

Title: Go, Jonny, Go by juliusschmidt

Summary: Jonny gives Kaner a ticket. To the courthouse. Kaner gives Jonny a ticket. To the love shack hockey game.

Notes: policeofficer!toews and kane has the hots for the man in uniform. figures. read it because you will laugh at patrick's thirst.

Notes: times 3-6 just fucking smothered my heart with all the fluff and romantic shizz. i fangirled a bit.

Title: love is a contact sport by hazel, mermaid

Summary: "And the tragic reality of Patrick's life is that even though they broke up over a year ago, he and Johnny still play beautiful hockey together." A high school AU, featuring dream-fish, bad movie dates, and a little bit of magic.

Notes: i was so hung up with this fic that i think i cried when 100,000+ words of it ended. there's nothing more that i am sucker for other than childhood sweethearts, angst, and fluff. and to have that wrapped up into one fic just warmed my little heart so much.

Notes: it's a regency AU for fucks sake. Like it's basically an ode to toew's ugly beard. plus kaner with being the perfect fucking brother to jackie.

Notes: where toews is a huge fucking douche, repents, and Kaner is perfection and forgives him. Hint of Crosby/Malkin

Notes: basically the perfect patrick kane pining fic. i've probably reread it 20x. and toews being a motivational muse for patrick's writing career.

Title: This Love is Be and End All by hawksjolras

Summary: Jonny reads. Jonny reads plenty. Jonny is college educated (sort of) and Sharpy can suck his dick, because he reads all the fucking time, okay. Except, see, he sort of doesn’t, and then Sharpy challenged him to a book club, and how do you even do that, book clubs aren’t supposed to have winners, but apparently the Blackhawks Book Club will, and PR is trying to make a thing out of it to encourage literacy and promote the library system in the city or something, so the whole team and a lot of the staff have to go find and read this book, and basically what all this means is that it’s a week before Christmas and Jonathan Toews is grumbling to himself and scowling at a shelf in the library like he wants it to be set on fire, because the shelf is missing the book he’s supposed to be reading for this stupid club that he is going to win. “Can I help you find something?” someone asks, and Jonny jumps.
